URBAN APPEAL
Describing what defines the driving vision of this 20-year industry veteran could possibly read as follows: An unwavering commitment to producing and delivering the best and highest quality content uniquely designed to meet the needs of urban communities. In fact from his early years as a concert promoter for high profile artists such as Will Smith, Bernie Mac and and Martin Lawrence, (to name a few), to producing and promoting hit plays like “The Diary of Black Men” and “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, or as creator and executive producer of the nationally syndicated TV magazine show “Living Large”, Codeblack Entertainment's CEO, Jeff Clanagan has certainly made his mark on the entertainment industry through his broad scope of contributions. Today Clanagan in conjunction with FoxFaith, a division of 20th Century Fox, develops and distributes quality films that elevate and inspire audiences everywhere. Here he speaks to us about the great strides being made in both the urban and christian urban entertainment markets, and gives us a sneak peak in to upcoming projects for—the 2007 - 2008 season.
LINGK: What are some of the challenges you have personally faced in developing films for the urban Christian market?
JEFF: Finding quality projects with a theme that will resonate with not only the Christian community, but will connect with families in general - a much larger audience. Looking for carefully balanced content that is of an inspirational nature yet still edgy enough to engage entire families universally. FULL FEATURE
